Reporting in Trading Programs

Users with sufficient access are able to run reports to obtain data extracts from the Trading Programs application.

These reports allow you to extract earning results, for example by program line or by time period, including the transactions that have generated those earnings with analysis breakdowns by any of your configured dimensions and with forecast and actual results available.

All reports show an initial preview with the option to download the full report in CSV format for uploading into other systems or exploring in Excel.

Program earnings

The Program earnings report provides information on program lines by program line rebate earnings. It allows you to see the earnings for each program line that matches the configurable filters.

You can run this report either by Actual or Forecast program line results type, where the Forecast results type will be, for a given search, a prediction for the end of any matching trading programs’ earnings.

It is also possible to configure dimension filters for each report, an example of this is adding a dimension filter to the program earnings report to view earnings by program line for specific branches or regions of branches.

You can also use the View by setting to aggregate the program earnings by dimension or dimension attribute. For example, if you want to view the program line earnings by branch, an extra column would be included in the report which would break down the program earnings and display them per branch for each program line. If you want to view the program earnings by branch grouping instead of branch, then a column would be included for branch grouping and the results would be aggregated per branch grouping.

If you select any View by options, then it should be noted that you may only run this report with one selected supplier. Otherwise, if no View by options are selected, then you may run this report with many suppliers.

You may also choose to Include interim trading programs within your program line earnings report. This data may be useful to view in a report as it allows the continuation of the calculation of accrued earnings. Therefore, you are still able to view the forecast rebate earnings within the report, for example, whilst a Proposal Trading program is still being negotiated.

Daily earnings

The daily earnings report provides information on rebate earnings for a selected supplier expressed per time period (e.g. daily, monthly or annually) and, optionally, per program line.

You will need to select the frequency you would like your daily earnings to appear in your report. For example, suppose you set your report to run from 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2018 and with a frequency of Monthly. In this case, the report would show 12 lines of daily earnings (as long as there is relevant transaction data for every month). For the same program line, if you chose to run your report with a frequency of Annually, the earnings would be rolled into just one line.

You can run this report either by Actual, Accrual or Actual forecast program line results type, where the Accrual results type will use the accrual band that you set up when configuring your targeted program lines.

It is also possible to configure dimension filters for each report, an example of this is adding a dimension filter to the daily earnings report to view earnings by program line for specific branches or regions of branches.

You can also use the View by setting to aggregate the daily earnings by dimension or dimension collection. For example, if you want to view the daily earnings by branch, an extra column would be included in the report which would break down the daily earnings and display them per branch for each program line.

You may also choose to Include interim trading programs within your daily earnings report. This data may be useful to view in a report as it allows the continuation of the calculation of accrued earnings. Therefore, you are still able to view the forecast rebate earnings within the report, for example, whilst a proposal trading program is still being negotiated.

Transaction

The Transaction report provides an extract of transaction data by supplier expressed per time period (e.g. daily, monthly or annually).

By selecting Consider unassigned transactions only, this report can be used to identify any transactions which are not assigned to any program lines as ‘earning’ transactions, therefore providing the ability to identify gaps in the coverage of their rebate program lines with respect to their actual transactions.

You will need to select the frequency you would like your transactions to appear in your report. For example, suppose you set your report to run from 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2018 and with a frequency of Monthly. In this case, the report would show 12 lines of data. However, if you chose to run your report with a frequency of Annually, the transactions would be aggregated into just one line.

It is possible to configure dimension filters for each report, an example of this is adding a dimension filter to the Transactions report to view transaction data for specific branches or regions of branches.

You can also use the View by setting to aggregate the transactions data by dimension or dimension collection. For example, if you want to view the transactions by branch, an extra column would be included in the report which would break down the transactions and display it per branch.
