Tayler and Fletcher are a leading estate agent, with 3 offices in and around the Cotswolds, England.

Tayler and Fletcher was established in the 1700s under the guise of "Keck and Son" and the earliest recorded sale by the firm is of live and dead farming stock at Woeful Lake Farm, Sherborne, near Cheltenham, in 1807, conducted by Mr T Acock. A century later the name Tayler and Fletcher appeared on the letterhead as it does to this day, pausing briefly in 1926 when the firm was known as Tayler, Fletcher and Villar.

Tayler and Fletcher are a very pro-active customer-focussed estate agents, who use technology to offer an enhanced customer experience.

The firm recognised that the web was an excellent medium for providing information to customers, and in the process reduce costs. However, they were continually frustrated by the process of updating their website, which involved contacting the web designers, asking them to make a change, waiting at least several days for the changes to be made, and then receiving a large bill.

In the fast moving property market, Tayler and Fletcher recognised the need to instantly publish properties onto their website, without technical intervention, and without waiting for someone else to do it.

Tayler and Fletcher approached Enable with an existing website and tried out the Enable CMS—a fully fledged content management system that addressed their issues.

As the website had been designed some years ago and was starting to look dated, the firm were keen to explore the possibility of developing a new site also.

The customer's primary objectives are set out below:

  • Increase the volume of information available to customers, by providing it on their website.
  • Reduce the cost of using an outside web design agency to update their website, by making changes in-house.
  • Reduce the time it takes to publish information on the site, by doing it instantly from anywhere, without technical intervention.
  • Gain new customers, by having properties on the web. Many people looking to move house these days only look online.
  • A session with the firm's partners was required to understand their objectives and priorities of launching a CMS. During this meeting it was decided that a website redesign was also required.

Following this meeting, a specification was drawn up and the Enable design team began work on the website concept designs.Two concept designs were produced, and Tayler and Fletcher chose their preference. The concept was refined further, before being passed over to the Professional Services Group who developed the concept into a navigable website, and implemented the Enable CMS software.

Training was provided onsite, to each of the Tayler and Fletcher offices.
