Our charity of the year: Stratford-Upon-Avon Foodbank

This year the sales team at Enable carried out short market research interviews with sales, purchasing and finance professionals who create and track rebates and deals, making a donation per call which added up to an amazing £2000 for the Stratford-upon-Avon Foodbank, Enable’s chosen charity of the year. Plus, the Enable social committee and our employees continued to hold dress-down days and staff social events virtually which raised an additional £1100! Bringing the total to an amazing £3100!The Stratford-upon-Avon Foodbank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. During the year (April 2019 - 2020) they have provided a staggering 3178 emergency food parcels (32% of which went to children) – an increase of 22% over the previous year. And now, more than ever, they need our support to help vulnerable people cope through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Andrew Butt, CEO of Enable said: “Giving to charity is an important part of who we are at Enable, we have even set up a charity committee so we can give back to charities close to our hearts, one of them being the Stratford Foodbank. Being passionate about engaging with our local community, we chose them as our charity of the year because they are working tirelessly to help those in Stratford who are unable to buy their own food in this difficult time and we want to help spread the word and give back.”

After receiving the amazing news about the donation, the Stratford Upon Avon foodbank said: "Stratford Foodbank are extremely grateful and appreciative to Enable and their staff team for not only choosing us as their charity of the year, but for the fantastic amount they have raised so far. It will enable us to continue to support more and more of those who are relying on us during this incredibly difficult period of time we are living through."https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/enablecharityoftheyear2020
