Employee Q&A - Corey

Employee Q&A - Corey

With over 120 people now employed at Enable across the UK, Canada and the US and that number still growing in 2021. We are always looking to recruit the most passionate and ambitious people who know our product inside and out and can forge ongoing relationships with customers to help them drive profitable growth. Just take a look at our careers page for our latest roles.

At Enable we like to get to know our employees a little better and this month we have spoken with Corey, who graduated with an MSci in Mathematics from the University of Birmingham in 2019. Corey joined Enable at the end of 2019 as an Implementation Analyst on the Customer Success team which was his first full-time job since graduating.

How much experience in Customer Success did you have before joining Enable?

I had never previously worked in Customer Success - I developed some transferrable skills from tutoring and project work but was excited to take a role in Customer Success and interact with clients across a variety of different fields.

Why did you decide to work in the SaaS industry?

I’m a huge fan of technology and I've always been surrounded by it so I was really excited to work in a modern field with innovative ideas and a fresh look at the workplace as a whole. The SaaS industry can be tough due to the amount of competition, but it can also be highly rewarding.

What initially attracted you to work for Enable?

It was clear to me from first glance that the team at Enable was young and ambitious. Previous experiences I had read online from former and current employees really helped to assure me that the people at Enable were the very best and that was apparent to me as soon as I joined. I’m really happy to be a part of Enable as it moves forward.

How would you describe the culture and working environment?

The culture and working environment is both friendly and rewarding. You're never made to feel undervalued and everyone across the business is both approachable and helpful - I couldn’t have asked for a nicer bunch of colleagues in Customer Success! Regular socials and events really help to create a great team spirit. I joined both the chess and badminton groups and it’s been fantastic getting to know colleagues from across all of the different parts of Enable.

What is your proudest career moment and why?

Around 3 months into the job, I had to step in last minute to travel to the US (about 3 days before the flight!) for an important client project without having worked with them previously. It was an exciting (and nerve-racking) experience, but during this short trip I was able to absorb information about their business which helped me lead and assist in meetings with them since. I’m now the lead for the project and am able to use all of the previous knowledge gained to help connect our teams and improve understanding on both sides.

What do you enjoy most about working at Enable?

I would say we have a lot of freedom in the way we work. This freedom allows us to come up with innovative new solutions and experiment with new ways to improve and learn. You are trusted with a large amount of responsibility early on and it really makes you feel like a valued part of the business.

What piece of advice would you give to those looking to secure a career with Enable?

Get stuck in, be a team player and be ambitious and you’ll fit right in with the Enable team.

Investing in our employees lets us devote more time into increasing their abilities, as well as drawing from a steady stream of high calibre applicants. The benefits are clear; Enable prides itself on high staff retention and plans to hire even more people by the end of 2021.
