Build It Better

Enable is sponsoring Mines Advisory Group “Bikes Against Bombs” charity cycle event 2021

Since 2015, 75 UK wholesale, convenience retail, FMCG and service-provider execs have raised over £673,000 on five industry bike rides for MAG (Mines Advisory Group) the Manchester based charity, awarded Co-Laureate Nobel Peace Prize for international campaigning to ban landmines. MAG find and destroy landmines, cluster munitions and unexploded bombs in places affected by conflict.

The rides in Sri Lanka, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia have helped MAG save lives and build safer futures for communities ravaged by the effects of war. Everyday 15 people are killed or injured by landmines and unexploded bombs, with almost half of casualties are children. The ride is in support of MAG teams around the world who remove and destroy these deadly items for good from communities affected by conflict. Every landmine and deadly weapon taken out of the ground is a life saved, an injury prevented and a community given the opportunity to flourish.

In 2021, there will be eight rides across 8 locations spanning England, Scotland and Wales. Enable is pleased to announce we will be sponsoring the Midlands Bikes Against Bombs ride which takes place on 7th July 2021 and some of the Enable team will also be taking part to raise money for this amazing cause!

The 50-mile cycle route will start at the DCS HQ in Banbury then towards Hanwell and then on to the villages of Horton and Radway, passing National Trust building Upton House. The cyclists will then head towards Stratford upon Avon which will be the halfway point, then they will loop back and head back to DCS in Banbury.
