As a growing SaaS company, we are particularly focused on recruiting passionate and ambitious sales orientated people who know our product inside and out and can forge ongoing relationships to win new business.
This month we have spoken with Lauren, a BDR Team Leader who graduated with an LLB LAW degree from University of Birmingham. In her role she manages a team of business development representatives to generate leads and you’ll probably recognize her as our host on our weekly and monthly webinars. After being with Enable for nearly 3 years and watching the sales team and company grow, Lauren offers her thoughts on her experience so far as a BDR Team Leader at Enable.
How much experience with sales did you have before joining Enable?
I’ve had many customer facing roles such as retail but none of them were in B2B sales. After graduating from university, I worked in a law firm and gained experience in marketing and PR departments whilst deciding what career to pursue which ended up being in sales.
Why did you decide to work in sales?
A core part of sales for me is the variety of skills it teaches you about business and how it challenges you every day, you definitely develop a lot of resilience. As a person I love talking to people and I enjoy building relationships which is obviously a key part of the job at Enable. The best part when a customer signs up is seeing the reward of all your hard work!
What initially attracted you to work for Enable?
My first impression of Enable was that it was very modern company with a forward-thinking mindset which has been the case, for example, I’ve regularly been asked my opinion on ideas or asked to create my own, this allows each individual to really take ownership of what they do.
The leadership team also seemed genuine and caring about my development. From my first interview at Enable with the CEO, Andrew, he came across really supportive and inspiring, I found that his driven nature was rather contagious. Naturally you want to be around people you can learn from and inspire you to be motivated which only helps you grow as a person as well as the company! My feeling on this has only grown stronger since my 2 year’s here, it’s made me realise that your CEO really sets the tone for the rest of the company.
What about the tech industry interested you?
Tech is an exciting industry & I didn’t really know a lot about it at the time, so it was chance for me to learn about something new. I’ve had experience in a variety of industries before starting Enable, but technology was appealing because of the rapid growth.
How would you describe the culture and working environment?
I would say the culture and working environment is very supportive there is always someone to help and innovative, as a company we’re always looking at better ways of doing things.
Having joined the company over 2 years ago, I’ve always felt very inspired. It’s been great to play a part in the growth of the company and start to see the vision come to life!
What do you enjoy most about working at Enable?
I enjoy the responsibility you’re given early on & the ability to learn from senior members of staff. The people at Enable are genuinely friendly and easy to get along with. Enable offer you plenty of flexibility in terms of doing your work, you’re given tasks, but you can schedule them into your day as you wish. Also, watching something you created from a conversation turn into business for the company is such a rewarding feeling!
What piece of advice would you give to graduates looking to secure a career with Enable?
Enable really allows you to achieve your potential. Our rapid growth means there are endless possibilities for your career, if you work hard you can get to a place you want to be quicker than most companies so grab the role with both hands from the beginning and get stuck in!
Be willing to learn and better yourself – we all make mistakes, but as long as you use these lessons constructively and take on feedback – we are aiming to be the best, so we need people who want to equally be the best.
